Our Curator Tamara Vehova Launches "Okoyom" — A New Course on the Art of Seeing Art

We are delighted to announce that Owl Way's curator, Tamara Vehova, has launched an exciting new educational project: Okoyom (Окоём) — a practical course dedicated to developing the skill of truly seeing and understanding art.

The course, available at okoyom.art, offers a structured 20-hour programme combining recorded lectures, hands-on assignments, live webinars, and personal consultations with Tamara. Students learn to navigate museums, galleries, and art fairs with confidence, building their own analytical toolkit for engaging with artworks across all periods and styles.

"I want people to become a little happier through this course — to step away from their worries and see the world and themselves from a new perspective. One of art's fundamental tasks is to give people a new way of seeing," says Tamara.

The programme builds on Tamara's long-standing collaboration with the Detali art school in Moscow, where she has taught courses on art selection and appreciation for interior spaces. With Okoyom, she extends this expertise into an independent online format accessible to art lovers worldwide.

Tamara Vehova is an art historian and graduate of Moscow State University's Department of Art History. She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AIS-AICA) and has curated exhibitions at the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and MOMA Tbilisi. She served as art consultant for the documentary "Poor Folk. Kabakovs," produced by the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, and previously ran her own gallery projects in Moscow — Galereya Zdes and Galereya Tamary Vekhovoy.
